Right now I’m juggling work for pay (B2B writing) and work for passion (screenwriting). The tricky thing is, I’m driven to make my B2B writing of the highest quality. This drive has been interfering with my screenwriting. And when I don’t contribute to my screenplay, I get stressed. I can also grow bitter toward the company I’m doing B2B writing for. Eternal Sunshine follows a reserved man undergoing a procedure to have an ex-lover wiped from his brain. During the procedure, he remembers how much he loves her and tries to escape the erasing process while passed out and inside his mind.
Routine 1.0 was restrictive and demanding. I was supposed to only eat meat on certain days and do a medium-to-intense workout every day. Because it was so demanding, I wasn’t able to do it. I’ve been working on building a routine over the past few months. It has mainly consisted of doing a light walk and yoga in the morning, taking a walk around lunchtime, and exercising at night. It also consisted of drinking less alcohol and caffeinated beverages, and more wholesome foods and less animal products. This is a good foundation, but I’ve been missing more days than I should. I spent a lot of time with my family these last four months while looking for a new full-time job. I rounded out the year with them when my sister visited Pittsburgh from Philadelphia. We went to the restaurant Eleven and then saw the one-act play The Humans. The former was good, the latter okay. The company was great.
