Worthy: The Evolutionary Angel, Naval Ravikant and Naval Ravikant on Happiness Hacks and the 5 Chimps Theory (Podcasts)
I made the mistake of driving to and from Florida. My starting point was Pittsburgh. I say “mistake” because, during the drive, I listened to two podcasts. These podcasts taught me, among other things, the value of time.
Driving is a waste of time. Yes, you can listen to audiobooks, good music, and podcasts like I did, but after a few hours you grow lame. Humans are not built to sit in metal shapes traveling at 70+ mph. It’s highly unnatural, and you feel it.
In addition to getting a handle on the fact that time is not nonrenewable (and deciding to never drive more than four hours in a car ever again), I also received the tools I need to upgrade myself. These tools came in the form of experiences and knowledge shared by Tim Ferriss and Naval Ravikant.
These are the episodes I listened to:
- The Tim Ferriss Show #97: The Evolutionary Angel, Naval Ravikant
- The Tim Ferriss Show #136: Naval Ravikant on Happiness Hacks and the 5 Chimps Theory
Having spent three hours listening to these, I know what I need to do to become smarter, wiser, and more content. There’s 10x more knowledge and insight in these episodes than any other piece of content I’ve spent three hours consuming.
If you want to improve yourself, give these a listen, then apply some of the concepts.
Just start with one or two. Personally, I’m going to take Naval’s recommendation and build a new good habit into my life every 6 months. I think I’ll start with adding a light 30-minute workout to my post-wakeup routine.
